I was born in Boston, MA and grew up in Sarasota, FL.  I later attended the University of Florida where I earned a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1981.  My wife, Julia and I have been married 26 years and we are blessed with five children, Lauran 25, Matt 22, Caitlin 20, Daniel 17 and Savannah 9.

I came  to Christ in 1991, although my intellectual journey was already several years old by then.  My wife and I attended Ligonier Conferences in Orlando while we lived in Florida.  The teaching of Sproul, Ferguson, MacArthur, Zacharia, and Boice has been influential for us.

I've been involved in teaching adult Sunday school for about 20 years.  My style of teaching is ex-positional, engaging, and informal; covering various books of the bible and various themes.  While my perspective is decidedly reformed, I stress sensitivity to the needs and growth of others still making this journey.  My goal is to help bring illumination and rejoicing in the knowledge of God's work and the responsibilities that He grants us in it.

Are we not "the brand plucked from the fire?" (Zech 2:0)
